The tournament was slated for a concluding 18 holes today, but persistent morning rains rendered the course unplayable. The Kansas Golf Association consequently decided that yesterday's results from field would stand.
The tournament champion was Baile Winslow of Overland Park (St. Thomas Aquinas High) who shot a 3-over 75. Winslow, who is heading to play golf at the University of Northern Colorado this fall, won the inaugural Sunflower Girls Championship two years ago. Following Winslow was Emma Whitaker of Wichita who shot a 5-over par 77 to claim 2nd place. Kylie McCarthy of Manhattan and Nicole McCurdy of Overland Park both shot 78s to tie for 3rd place. Finley was the only golfer from Missouri in the 29 player field. She is also thought to be the only girl in the field which plays high school golf on a boys team.
