Patriots Second Once Again to KC Christian

The Christ Prep Patriots came up short once again today against Kansas City Christian in the nine team Veritas Invitational at Alvamar Golf Club in Lawrnece, Kans. CPA shot a team total 332, just three strokes back of KC Christian's winning mark of 329. Christ Prep's score provided them a comfortable margin over third place and host Veritas. Other participating schools included Cair Paravel, Flint Hills, Sunrise Christian of Wichita, Blue Ridge Christian, Wichita (Homeschool) Warriors, and Center Place Restoration School.

Christ Prep took home two of the top three individual medals. Sophomore Joey Johnson led the field with the day's low, a two-over-par 74. Brother Adam Johnson, junior, shot a 79 which was good for third place. KC Christian's Joe Lambert was second with a 77.

The Patriots now prepare for the KCAA Championships to be held May 10-11 at St. Andrews and Ironhorse Golf Clubs. The 36 hole event will feature many of the teams in today's competition, although KC Christian will be participating in the KSHAA playoffs.
